GAF Energy launched just three years ago, in 2019. We’ve gone from non-existence to launching a product heralded as a world changing idea and entered the ranks of the 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators in the world, per Fast Company. This is just the beginning, too – we’re expanding into new markets all the time, continuing to make strides on product improvements, and hiring rapidly.

In January 2022, Timberline Solar™ Energy Shingle put GAF Energy on the map at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Since that launch, Timberline Solar has won more than 18 awards, including the Best of Innovation award from CES, Green Builder Sustainable Home Award, Good Housekeeping Editor’s Choice for CES 2022, a Fast Company World Changing Ideas award, and an NAHB Best of IBS Award, Most Innovative Construction Tool.
In July, we announced the opening of our second manufacturing facility in the U.S. The Georgetown, Texas location will employ hundreds of full-time staff, in addition to the nearly 200 GAF Energy workers located in our San Jose headquarters.
This lightning-speed growth and innovation reflect a national desire and a demand for new residential solar technology that is assembled in the U.S. Timberline Solar is already on rooftops across America—successfully producing energy and protecting homes. Given the scale of the roofing industry and the frequency of roof replacement—nearly five million American homeowners replace their roofs annually—this product has the potential to create a seismic shift in clean energy adoption and is poised to make GAF Energy among the largest clean energy companies in the world.
